Privacy Policy

The App processes the content you create, import, open, or attach in order to provide its editing and visualization features. Depending on how you use the App, local data may include:

• Canvas documents, diagrams, notes, Markdown, text, shapes, frames, layer groups, ink, tables, database structures, timelines, and other canvas content.
• Files and assets you import or attach, such as images, PDFs, and other supported files.
• App preferences and settings.
• Local recovery, history, cache, or versioning data created to support document editing and recovery features.
• Local diagnostic logs created when the App encounters certain errors.

Your documents normally remain in the locations you choose on your device or storage system. We do not operate a cloud synchronization service that automatically receives copies of your Simple Visual Canvas documents.

The App does not include advertising, behavioral tracking, or analytics services, and it does not automatically upload your canvas documents or local crash logs to us.

If you voluntarily contact support, submit feedback, or send us a file or diagnostic log, we will receive the information you choose to provide through that communication. Information you provide outside the App is handled only for the purpose for which you provided it, subject to applicable law and the privacy practices of the communication service you use.

The App is distributed through the Microsoft Store and can use Microsoft Store services for licensing, entitlement checks, purchases, updates, and rating or review experiences. Microsoft may process account, device, licensing, transaction, diagnostic, and other information under Microsoft's own terms and privacy statement.

The App may receive information such as whether a Store license or add-on entitlement is active and the status of a purchase request. We do not receive or process your full payment card details. Payments, billing, and Store refunds are handled by Microsoft under Microsoft's applicable terms and policies.

When you add or use a web link in the App, the App may request the linked HTTPS page to obtain metadata such as a title, description, site name, or preview image. It may also request an image URL supplied by that page and store a validated preview asset locally.

These requests are made directly from your device to the destination website or content host. The destination service can therefore receive information normally exposed by an internet request, such as your IP address, the requested URL, request headers, and network timing information. If a URL itself contains personal or confidential information, that information can be included in the request to the destination service. The destination service's privacy policy and terms apply to its processing.

Web link cards that reference YouTube may load YouTube thumbnail images and can provide embedded playback using WebView2. Embedded playback is restricted to approved YouTube origins, including YouTube's privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com embed domain, but YouTube and Google may still receive network and device information when their content is requested or played.

YouTube and Google are independent third parties. Their own privacy policies, terms, cookie practices, account settings, and regional requirements apply to their services.

The App may create local crash or incident logs containing technical information such as timestamps, error types, error messages, status codes, and stack traces. The App sanitizes known user-profile and App-local paths before writing them to these logs. The current implementation is designed to keep no more than 20 crash log files and to remove files older than 14 days.

These logs remain on your device and are not automatically uploaded to us. If you choose to send a log to support, we will receive the contents you send.

The App may open websites, Store pages, documentation, feedback forms, or other external destinations in your browser or another application. Once you leave the App, the destination service controls its own collection and processing of information. Review the destination service's privacy policy before submitting personal or confidential information.

We do not sell your canvas content or personal information, and we do not use App content for advertising. Information leaves the device only when required by a feature you use or an action you take, such as accessing Microsoft Store services, retrieving web content, playing YouTube content, opening an external service, or voluntarily contacting support.

You control the content you create and the optional network-connected features you use. You can avoid third-party web services by not using the corresponding web-link, YouTube, or external-service features. You can delete local documents and assets you control, and uninstall the App. Files saved outside the App's private storage remain under the control of the storage location you selected.

Built-in remote web previews use encrypted HTTPS. The App also applies restrictions to remote preview destinations. Credentials that you choose to remember are stored through the Windows Credential Locker. Custom endpoints and external services have their own security properties and are your responsibility to evaluate before use.

No method of electronic storage or network communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security, backups, account security, and access controls for sensitive content.

Microsoft, websites, YouTube/Google, and other external services may process information in countries different from your own. Their processing, retention, and international transfer practices are governed by their own privacy policies and applicable laws.

The App does not include a built-in account or cloud service for collecting children's personal information. Optional third-party services, including Microsoft Store, websites, and YouTube, may impose their own age requirements and privacy rules. Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising a minor's use of those services where required by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, applicable law, or our data practices change. The current version will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Material changes should be reviewed before continuing to use affected network-connected features.
